The Saucony ProGrid Hurricane line has always been known as a heavy duty stability running shoe, and the Saucony ProGrid Hurricane 12 is exactly that. This year’s model was updated with an expanded medial post that extends more into the rearfoot with a more supportive motion control device and also comes with a larger heel crash pad to better absorb all of the impacts that different runners with different running styles can have.
Stability features
In addition to having the more supportive medial post and segmented heel cushioning, the Saucony ProGrid Hurricane 12 includes what Saucony calls the Arch-lock, which runs from the laces to the midsole along the inside part of the running shoe. This helps secure your foot by linking the top of the shoe to the stable midsole, so that when you tighten your laces, the shoe tightens where you need it most.
The Saucony Hurricane 12 is considered a moderate stability shoe, which means its probably not for you if you are just a slight overpronator and average weight, it might be overkill in that case.

The ProGrid technology that is included with basically every Saucony running shoe is what is used for impact deflection, and the Saucony Hurricane 12 includes full length ProGrid construction. This is what helps disperse shock so it can be absorbed instead of wearing on your feet and knees.
The men’s Saucony ProGrid Hurricane 12 weighs in at 12.9 ounces, and the women’s shoe weighs 11.4 ounces.
The air mesh upper is very breathable and along with the Saucony Hydrator collar lining technology, which helps to keep your foot cool and dry in the Hurricane 12.
