New Balance 1225 is a premier Stability running shoe from New Balance. Like many other running shoes in the New Balance line, the New Balance 1225 has the new Stabilicore medial support system, which maintains the support from the previous years model, while shaving weight off. The 1225 is designed to take a lot of miles as its on the upper end of being a stability shoe, and can be a great option if you don’t want to make the jump to a bulky motion-control shoe.

The New Balance 1225 is a fairly expensive shoe, but designing a high stability shoe without sacrificing cushioning is going to take some design effort. If you are familiar with the 1224, you’ll get a familiar feel with the 1225 but with lighter weight because of the Stabilicore medial post change. One change is a change in the last to the performance PL-1 last. I have heard that this new last has been getting good ratings, as its also in the 769 and the 1063.

The New Balance 1225 also includes the N-Lock lacing system, in combination with the Dual Density collar is designed to provide a lot of focus on locking in the shoe.

In summary, the 1225 is a performance upgrade from the 1224, and is a great Stability shoe for those pounding out a lot of miles, or need a lot of stability without going all the way to a motion control shoe.
