The lightweight Mizuno Wave Rider 13 is designed for Neutral runners with normal to high arches that are looking for a performance trainer. The Wave Rider 13 is quite highly rated in Road Runner reviews, but quite a few runners with experience in the Wave Rider 12’s have noticed some changes to the Wave Rider line they have grown to love.

How lightweight is the Mizuno Wave Rider 13? The men’s shoe comes in at 10.5 ounces and the women’s shoe is 8.6 ounces.

What are some of the changes to the Mizuno Wave Rider 13?

Some of the changes involved the lacing system that were put in place to customize the fit over the toebox. So if you are used to the toebox on the Rider 12, then you might want to try a pair of the Rider 13’s out before you buy to make sure that the changes don’t cause you any excess rubbing on the outside of your toes.

The material in the tongue has changed to have a bit more foam, which helps to wrap the foot and works along with the new lacing changes to keep the upper part of the shoe snug over the top.

But overall, Mizuno attempted to keep most of the rest of the shoe the same compared to last year’s model.
