It’s baaaaaack. With its 13th edition, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS series won back many of its followers — including Runner’s World, which gave it the Editor’s Choice Award for winter 2012.
Many users seem content with the fit of the GTS 13 after being very disappointed with extreme discomfort caused by the previous version. And with the fit problem evidently fixed, medium-arched runners are focusing on this stability shoe’s high-tech features and rich cushioning.
A Ride Just For You
As with many Brooks shoes, plushness is defined by the DNA system, which provides customized firmness based on each person’s weight, speed, biomechanics, etc. It’s a one-shoe-fits-all approach that runners love.
Another runner-specific feature is Flextra midsole rubber, which fosters customized flexibility based on gender and weight.
Speaking of flexibility, this latest installment of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 adds a second series of flex grooves, which allow the shoe to bend with purpose from one end to the other.
Additionally, runners will appreciate that this shoe is maintaining its slim figure at 11.3 and 9.4 ounces for men and women, respectively.
Good Price Continues
The GTS 13 is available at $110 — the same great price as the 12, which is excellent because the shoe actually has added some stuff while retaining long-appreciated features such as the segmented crash pad for a smooth heel-to-toe transition.
The most noticeable downside is that it isn’t noticeable. This shoe actually regressed in terms of design and palette attractiveness. It’s the opposite of a cutting-edge look.
But most people will be able to get past the boring vibe and dwell on the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13’s status as an incredibly well-rounded stability product.
