Brooks Ghost shoes
This post on Brooks Ghost shoes is part of our series on Brooks NEUTRAL running shoes posts.
There’s nothing spooky about this high-end performance shoe built for the neutral, bio-mechanically efficient runner who wants to go fast. The Ghost’s articulated, hyper-flex contact rubber outsole provides a resilient experience with every step, while its sprung toe and modified arch give a secure mid-foot wrap and spectacular toe off. Now that’s what we call friendly. It is recommended that you order the Ghost one half-size bigger than what you normally wear in a Brooks running shoe.
It is a neutral training shoe and will retail at $100. The Ghost uses a tuned form of MoGo midsole with increased resiliency, and has a slight modification to the last to really grab and wrap the mid-foot area of this neutral runner.
Highly cushioned, resilient, and the mid-foot fit area was changed just slightly to hyperfocus on this neutral foot type.
To use Asics as an example: The Ghost is to the Glycerin, as the Landreth is to the Nimbus. The Brooks Ghost is really that neutral shoe in the $100 price zone that is a bit less shoe and a slightly different fit than the Brooks Glycerin. It’s on a different last, and the outsole is configured for a very flexible, articulated ride. They are close to the Burn but could be just an everyday shoe for someone that want really good forefoot cushioning.
The Brooks Ghost will not be Burn replacement…not a light weight trainer.
Curved Last, Sprung toe, Snug Arch, and lighter than the Glycerine 6.
The Ghost works wonderful with narrow to medium width with a average arch. One thing with all Brooks running shoes is the heel fit is always perfect and the arch is not overly high. The sprung last toe will feel like it working different muscles under your feet but that is a good thing. Doesn’t feel bulky like a cushioned trainer feels.
