Brooks Dyad 5 running shoes

The Brooks Dyad 5 running shoe is part of our review of Brooks neutral running shoes.

Long-lasting cushioning for bio-mechanically efficient runners who have flat feet. Including a full-length MoGo midsole, offers a neutral base, generous width and volume, and first-feel cushioning for flat footers who just donâ€™t happen to need motion-control shoes. Orthotics are easily accommodated, and two supportive pods provide passive, but steady stability.

It is marketed as a shoe for people with low/flat arches who don’t need motion control though.

The Brooks Dyad is a very cushioned shoe. Primarily made for efficient runners with low arches.

The Dyad is pretty much THE niche shoe for flat-footed neutral runners. The dyad 5 has changed quite a bit, narrower, lighter (thanks to MoGo instead of S-257 midsole) and just a different feel. But still great for neutral runners with feet that look like they need motion control. Also, because of the depth, accommodates orthotics really well.

Although classed as a neutral trainer. The Brooks Dyad is primarily designed for runners with either: low/no arches and neutral gait, or for pronators who want a shoe without added stability that will accommodate and allow an added orthotic to do the correction to the gait.

The Dyad 5 is using a lighter upper with less material that wraps the foot more securely than the Dyad 4-also the pods on the outsole are spaced further apart and deeper flex grooves in the forefoot help bump up the performance level.
