Adidas Supernova Glide 2

The Adidas Supernova Glide 2 is a Neutral running shoe designed to be able to work with heavier runners with high arches. The reason it works well for heavier runners is all of the cushioning on the heel, on the crash pad, so that all of the initial impact from when your shoe contacts the ground can be absorbed.

This shoe might be good to try if you are an overstrider too. Since overstriders typically land on the heel of the shoe with more force than other runners, having that extra cushioning will help keep your ankle and knees from having to absorb that shock.

Improvements to the Upper

Something that you will notice on the men’s version of the Adidas Supernova Glide 2 is the weave pattern on the toebox of the shoe, which is nice to have instead of a stitched on overlay, because sometimes stitching can rub and irritate your toes.

Updates to the Shoe from last year

Improvements to the Adidas Supernova Glide 2 compared to the first version of the Glide include firming up of the arch support and forefoot, so if you need a Neutral shoe, but still like to have some stiffness, this shoe might be a great match for you.

Differences with Women’s Adidas Supernova Glide 2 Compared to Men’s

There aren’t too many shoes that have big differences in the women’s shoes compared to the men’s shoes, apart from basic stuff like more flexibility and less cushioning, and weight, due to the fact that women typically don’t weigh as much as men.

The overlays on the women’s shoe are different, they are stitched compared to weaved for the men’s. This is because women tend to have a wider forefoot than men.

They also use a GEOFIT construction, that is an internal footwear technology that enhances fit and comfort by placing padding in anatomically correct areas.

I would recommend this shoe if you have high arches, are looking for a Neutral shoe, and if you tend to overstride or are a heavier runner.
